Sebastian Steuer is a legal scholar and postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE. He is a fully qualified German lawyer, holds a Ph.D. in law (Dr. iur.) from Goethe University and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School, and is also trained as an economist. A major focus of his recent research has been on market-based approaches to climate change mitigation, including green finance, emissions trading and carbon offsets. He is also interested in the governance of artificial intelligence and the use of large language models in legal research.
