Claes Bäckman's research focuses on housing and mortgage markets, household finance, and peer effects in financial decision-making. Claes has held positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Lund University, Assistant Professor at Aarhus University, and Visiting Professor at the University of Mannheim.
