to be held on 27 August 2024, House of Finance, Frankfurt, Germany

Technological change, climate change, financial crises, inflation, and shocks to the real economy have triggered a rapid evolution of financial intermediation. Over the past decade, the regulatory framework was overhauled, new players entered the market, novel technologies were adopted, and demand for financial intermediation shifted in response to structural changes and shocks to economies worldwide. This workshop plans to discuss papers surrounding the future of financial intermediation. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Climate change and financial intermediation
  • Technological change and financial intermediation
  • Payment infrastructure, sanctions, and non-financial risks
  • Macroprudential regulation and the interaction between Monetary and Macroprudential policies
  • Non-bank financial intermediation

The workshop takes place on the day ahead of the 2024 CEBRA Annual Meeting (to be held in Frankfurt).
