The Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE is accepting applications for its Journalist in Residence fellowship. Funded by the Society for the Support of the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE, the program offers journalists direct access to experts on financial markets and financial regulation.

The fellowship provides an opportunity to pursue a personal research project, expand financial expertise, and engage with current academic research. With the European Central Bank and numerous financial institutions located in Frankfurt, the city offers ideal conditions for research and networking.

  • A workspace and an individual mentor from the SAFE research team
  • Access to public and internal SAFE events

The program is open to employed and freelance journalists with at least five years of professional experience who regularly report on financial topics for national or international media. Journalists from all media formats – print, online, TV, radio, etc. – are encouraged to apply.
