Journalist in Residence

A set of Newspapers

The Journalist in Residence program at SAFE aims to support high-quality, independent finance-related journalism by providing journalists with direct access to leading researchers on finance and financial regulation topics. The Institute's research focuses on five thematic areas: Financial Intermediation, Law & Finance, Financial Markets, Household Finance, and Macro Finance.

The program enables the selected journalist to work on a self-chosen project, deepen their understanding of financial market structures, regulatory frameworks, and economic policies, and engage in dialogue with experts across these disciplines. SAFE is networked with other research facilities and institutions internationally. Located at Goethe University’s House of Finance in the financial center Frankfurt am Main, SAFE offers a unique environment for journalists covering financial and economic topics. The city is home to the European Central Bank and major financial institutions, and regulatory bodies, providing numerous opportunities for background research, networking, and access to key players in the financial sector.
