On Saturday, 28 September 2024, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the first Frankfurt Science Festival, organized by the Frankfurt Alliance, will take place at Roßmarkt in Frankfurt’s city center. The Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE, along with 15 other regional research institutions, invites all interested parties to experience science up close. The festival will feature engaging presentations, discussions, and interactive activities.
The research institutions will present their work in pavilion tents and with a varied stage program. SAFE will provide insights into current financial market research, offering visitors the chance to test their financial knowledge and engage directly with researchers.
Interactive Program Highlights
A special highlight is the introduction of the Seasn App, developed by SAFE researcher Andreas Hackethal and his team at the SAFE Pension Finance Lab. The app offers users a simplified overview of their pension status and precise retirement planning options. Visitors will learn how to use the app and how to manage their pension expectations.
The festival will open with a panel discussion on education equity, focusing on the relationship between social background and educational opportunities. SAFE will also contribute to the stage program with an interactive talk on Green Finance by Nikolai Badenhoop, head of the research group Sustainable Finance Law in Europe.
Exciting Activities
Visitors can look forward to a range of other activities, including an AI-themed quiz, "Prompt Battles," science slams, and comedic performances by the science comedians Dr. KNOW and Dr. HOW. The day will conclude with a live performance by rapper and doctoral candidate Nikita Kudakov, who conducts research at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics.
The Frankfurt Science Festival offers a comprehensive view of the broad research landscape in the Frankfurt region. In addition to SAFE, the Goethe University, various Max Planck, Fraunhofer, and other Leibniz Institutes will be present. Food trucks with regional specialties and comfortable seating areas will be available for visitors.
