Ulrich Bindseil
Ulrich Bindseil ist SAFE Senior Fellow und Honorarprofessor an der TU Berlin. Bis 2025 war er Generaldirektor für Marktinfrastruktur und Zahlungsverkehr bei der Europäischen Zentralbank, zuvor Generaldirektor für Marktoperationen und Leiter des Risikomanagements.
Seine Laufbahn begann er 1997 bei der Deutschen Bundesbank und dem Europäischen Währungsinstitut. Er war Mitglied des BIZ-Marktausschusses, des Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS) und des Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI).
Er hat zahlreiche Artikel und Bücher zur angewandten Zentralbankpraxis veröffentlicht, darunter Monetary Policy Operations and the Financial System (2014, Oxford University Press), Central Banking before 1800 – a Rehabilitation (2019, Oxford University Press), Introduction to Central Banking (2022, Springer, gemeinsam mit A. Fotia) sowie Introduction to Payments and Market Infrastructures (2023, gemeinsam mit G. Pantelopoulos).
