Communication Toolbox for Engaging and Aiding Women in Pension Planning (PENGAGE)

Projekt Start: 03/2023
Status: Fortlaufend

Bereich: Household Finance
Finanziert von: Leibniz Competition

In Germany, women currently receive 40 percent less retirement income than men. In cooperation with media companies, corporate partners and financial institutions, the project aims to create a communication toolbox to inform women about the state of their retirement income and to incentive them to increase their pension planning activities. The toolbox will draw on academic research on women's financial literacy and investment biases, particularly with regard to retirement decisions. The communication toolbox will be embedded in a prototypical digital dashboard app developed in a non-profit effort in collaboration with Goethe University, SAFE, and ZEW, and industry partners. The toolbox and the app will be used to suggest a range of strategies that women can pursue to close the high income gap in retirement.
