The economic crisis in Greece is not a simple consequence of the recent global financial crisis, but is due to deep structural problems of the Greek economy that have accumulated over decades. Consequently, the solution to the crisis is also long-term and consists in a series of structural reforms that will take years. The paper discusses three key reform areas.
