Introduction to the Data Room

In this seminar, you will learn how to use the data room. You will get an overview of what data you can access for your research. Our focus is on databases offering a broad spectrum of data, i.e., the Bloomberg Terminal and LSEG Workspace (formerly Refinitiv Workspace or Eikon). We also introduce WRDS, a comprehensive financial data platform with an extensive collection of financial databases.
No programming skills are required. We will use the Excel Add-Ins to access these databases to facilitate your learning process.
We warmly welcome participants of all skill levels, making this seminar accessible to everyone. Of course, if you are writing an empirical bachelor's or master's thesis in economics and finance soon, this might interest you.
This will be a 75-minute seminar and an additional 15-minute Q&A session in which you are welcome to participate.
A valid Goethe Card is needed for attendance.
