With the emergence of new types of means of payment and new financial technologies, cash and other conventional methods of payment have also been affected. Will this go so far as to make cash completely obsolete and how should such developments be regulated in the near future? In the course of the event „FinTech and CBDC“, we want to take a closer look at these new developments and examine their effects and consequences together with practitioners and researchers.

Marco Dell´Erba will address stablecoins as a part of "Shadow Central Banking" and "Crypto Shadow Banking“. Alexander Merkel will focus on the ongoing Eurosystem investigation phase on the digital euro. Corinne Zellweger-Gutknecht will reflect on the challenges and difficulties of creating a legal and regulatory environment to allow traditional money to continue to exist alongside modern money.
