For the second time, the Frankfurt-based Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE hosts and organizes a joint conference with three of CEPRs Research Policy Networks:
- RPN European Economic Policy,
- RPN FinTech and Digital Currencies, and
- RPN European Financial Architecture.
2nd CEPR-SAFE Frankfurt Hub Conference of RPNs

The conference encourages discussions within and across RPNs, exploring intersections of topical areas at a time of concurrent, fundamental changes in digital technology and national and international politics. The conference consists of topical sessions covering RPN areas, a panel session with policy makers and relevant decision makers from industry, and a breakout session for the RPNs. The keynote speaker will be announced shortly.
Topics of particular interest for this year's conference include, but are not limited to:
- Payment systems and European sovereignty.
- Safe assets in times of geopolitical turmoil.
- Exchange rate dynamics under world polarization.
- Regulatory simplification.
- Completion of banking union/capital market union.
- Private credit and financial stability.
- Stablecoins and systemic risk.
- Climate regulation U-turn and implications for climate finance.
- Defense policy needs and European financial architecture.
We invite submission of policy and research papers in the above areas and in the core topics of the different RPNs.
Those wishing to present a paper at the conference should submit by April 30, 2025 by using our submission portal.
Decisions regarding acceptance will be made by May 20, 2025.
The final version of accepted papers must be received by September 1, 2025.
