On 9 July 2025, the SAFE ESG Uptake project team, together with consortium partners Università Ca' Foscari Venezia, WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), the European Commission’s SG REFORM, and the Joint Research Centre (JRC), participated in the Intermediate Horizontal Training on ESG Risks, which was organized and hosted by the JRC at its premises in Ispra as part of the ESG Uptake project.
The training brought together representatives from National Competent Authorities across the Banking, Insurance, and Capital Markets sectors, alongside expert speakers from European institutions and academia. Sessions addressed key topics for financial supervisors, including transition risks and financing, nature-related risks, and included hands-on case studies on evaluating transition plans and assessing firm-level exposure to physical climate risks.
Following the training, many participants also attended the 7th JRC Summer School on Sustainable Finance, which showcased cutting-edge research across a wide range of sustainable finance topics.
