Ignazio Angeloni

Ignazio Angeloni is a Senior Policy Fellow at the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE and the Harvard Kennedy School. From 2014 to 2019, he was a member of the supervisory board of the European Central Bank (ECB); in 2012-2013, as ECB´s Head of Financial Stability, he coordinated the preparations for establishing the single supervisory mechanism.

In his earlier career, he held positions at the Bank of Italy and Italy’s Ministry of Finance. Angeloni holds a degree from Bocconi University and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania; he has published books and articles in leading academic journals.
