A Beginner's Guide to APIs: How to Retrieve Financial Data from Bloomberg, RWS (EIKON), and WRDS
to be held on 5 April 2023, 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. CET, SAFE Data Room, House of Finance, HoF E.02
In this seminar, you will gain a basic understanding of APIs, including what they are and how they work. Using practical examples in Python, you will learn how to retrieve financial data from three popular sources: Bloomberg, Refinitiv Workspace for Students (RWS, EIKON), and WRDS, which are available in the SAFE data room.
By the end of the seminar, you will have a solid knowledge of APIs that you can apply to other data sources and applications in your future work.
This will be a 75 min seminar, and there will be an additional 15-minute Q&A session in which you are welcome to participate.
The seminar will be taught by Philip Schwedler (SAFE Data Center).
A valid Goethe Card is needed for attendance.
