CEBRA Annual Meeting 2024

How to Get There

The CEBRA 2024 annual meeting will be held on the Campus Westend, Goethe University:
- House of Finance (registration and parallel sessions), Theodor-W.-Adorno-Platz 3, 60323 Frankfurt am Main
- Lecture Center (panel sessions), Theodor-W.-Adorno-Platz 1
The two buildings are 400 m away.

How to reach the city - central railway station (Hauptbahnhof) or city center:

  • from Frankfurt International Airport (IATA code: FRA): the airport’s regional train station is served by RMV (Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund) with direct connection to Frankfurt. You can use the S-Bahn trains S8 and S9 or the Regional Express (RE) with the numbers RE59, RE2 and RE3. The airport's train station for short distances is located in the ground floor of the airport, under Terminal 1. The sequence of the stations is: Airport – Gateway Gardens – Stadion – Niederrad – Central railway station (Hauptbahnhof) – Taunusanlage - Hauptwache (city center), it takes ca. 16-17 minutes, the price is 6,30€ in one direction. The Regional Express (RE) only stops at Niederrad and finishes the trip at the Frankfurt central railway station.

Taxi from the airport to the city costs 40-50€.

  • Frankfurt Hahn Airport (IATA code: HHN): located at 115 km away from Frankfurt. Bus shuttles operate between the airport and Frankfurt central railway station. The time table is coordinated with the flight schedule. The trip takes 2 hours and 10 min, the price is in the range 18 - 20€ in one direction, further details.

How to reach the Campus Westend from the central railway station (Hauptbahnhof) and from the city center (station Hauptwache):

  • from central railway station (Hauptbahnhof): if you are coming from the FRA airport with train S8 or S9, you can just stay for two more stations until reaching the center - station Hauptwache. Otherwise, from the central railway station you have to take train S3, S4, S5 or S6 direction Südbahnhof, usually this is rail track (Gleis) 101, it is on level -2. From the city center to the Campus, please go to the next line.
  • from the city center (station Hauptwache): you have to take train U1, U2, U3 or U8, all on the same rail track (Gleis) 2 on level -3. Direction: U1 - Ginnheim, U2 - Nieder-Eschbach, U3 - Oberursel (Taunus)-Hohemark, U8 - Riedberg. The entire trip takes around 10 minutes. You have to get off on the 4th station called Holzhausenstraße and walk 15 min to the House of Finance.

Note: You can plan public transportaion trips and buy tickets here or use the app RMVgo, available on Google Play and App Store.

You can buy a ticket for the public transportation by using one of the machines on the station. There are buttons "Frankfurt city" and "Frankfurt airport" (if you at the airport or go there), you don’t need to type any codes (but just in case: Frankfurt urbanized area has a price zone code 50, Frankfurt plus airport is zone 5090). There is also a button to change the language. The ticket is valid until the destination is reached, no matter how many times you change or how many different types of transportation you use.

There are two types of "city" trains covering short distances – U-Bahn and S-Bahn. They both run under and on the ground level. The numbering of the lines is U1, U2,… and S1, S2,…, respectively. They run on different levels when underground, and there is no way to get confused.
