House of Finance and Research Center SAFE mourn the loss of Brigitte Haar

Law and Finance Professor died at the age of 54

"Brigitte Haar has shaped the House of Finance since its founding in 2008 as a highly respected lawyer with a large international network. She has embodied our interdisciplinary claim as probably no second person in the house and has driven it with great personal commitment. Her too early death is a great loss for the House of Finance, for Goethe University and for the research field Law and Finance in Germany."

Wolfgang König, Executive Director of the House of Finance

"We are mourning the loss of a great scholar and close colleague who has paved the way for a true interdisciplinary collaboration between lawyers and economists in the House of Finance. From the beginning, she was involved in the conception and construction of the LOEWE Center SAFE and the DFG Center for Advanced Studies Foundations of Law and Finance. For many years she has represented the legal interests in the Scientific Board of SAFE. We will honor her memory."

Jan Pieter Krahnen, Director LOEWE-Center SAFE

"The Ph.D. program Law and Economics of Money and Finance (LEMF), which Brigitte Haar built up and which I was happy to lead together with her, symbolizes her fearlessness to break new ground and to persistently pursue the connected goals with great dedication. It has always been both a great pleasure and an intellectual enrichment to work with her."

Uwe Walz, Director LOEWE Center SAFE & LEMF

Brigitte Haar joined Goethe University Frankfurt in 2004 as a Professor of Private Law, German, European, and International Business Law, Law and Finance, and Comparative Law.
