Helmut Gründl awarded research funding

The Selection Committee of the Deutscher Verein für Versicherungswissenschaften has awarded project funding to Prof. Dr. Helmut Gründl for his project on the impact of interest and mortality risks on the solvency position of life insurance companies. The project will receive funding for two years to analyze the impact of both interest and mortality risks. Against the current background of very low interest rates and long life expectancies, life insurance companies are particularly vulnerable to both risks.

Professor Gründl holds the Chair of Insurance and Regulation and is Managing Director of the International Center for Insurance Regulation. He is an active researcher in SAFE with project work on the risks and side-effects of Basel III & Solvency II.
