Thomas F. Huertas

Thomas Huertas is a Senior Fellow at the Leibniz Institute for Financial Research SAFE, a Senior Fellow at the Center for Financial Studies and an Adjunct Professor at the Institute for Law and Finance. In addition, he serves as a non-executive director at Barclays Bank Ireland.

In his earlier career, he was a partner at Ernst & Young and chaired the firm’s Global Regulatory Network (2012-2018). Further, he held positions as Alternate Chair of the European Banking Authority (2011), Executive Director at the UK Financial Services Authority (2004-2011), and as a banker at Citigroup. Huertas holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and has published extensively on financial regulation.
