Finance and Business Research from a Long-Term Perspective: Utilizing Historical German Financial Market and Corporate Data (GerHisFin)

Projekt Start: 01/2025
Status: Fortlaufend
Forscher: Dennis Gram, Alexander Hillert, Uwe Walz
Bereich: Data Center
Finanziert von: Joint Science Conference (Academies Program)

The project's goal is to create structured and interconnected research data containing corporate information and financial metrics of German real and financial economy enterprises over a long period (from 1871).  On the basis of this data, a research program focusing on a broad range of financial-historical and long-term perspective topics has been implemented. The unique aspects of Germany’s development during the observation period (e.g., significant changes in the financial system, hyperinflation, and various crises) provide valuable insights into the challenges of the financial system and related economic policy measures.
