Where:Goethe University, Campus Westend, Lecture Building

This conference is jointly organized by Goethe University Frankfurt, the Research Center SAFE and the Institut für Bank- und Finanzgeschichte e.V. in the context of the Endowed Visiting Professorship for Financial History.

The conference brings together scholars focused on studying financial institutions, markets and systems over the long run. Taking a comparative, historical perspective permits novel insights into the variety of financial systems that can successfully mobilize capital toward productive uses and economic growth.

The Endowed Chair of Financial History at Goethe University Frankfurt is sponsored by Metzler Bank and Edmond de Rothschild Group. Visiting Professor 2016 is Professor Caroline Fohlin, Emory University.
